Class 2 (Category C) Driver Training

Description:

This is a package suitable for anyone wanting to obtain their Category C (Class 2) driving licence.

This licence will allow you to drive any lorry or truck which ways between 3.5 and 32 tonnes.

This course also includes the Driver CPC Initial Qualification (Module 2 & 4) which is a legal requirement to drive large goods vehicles for the purposes of paid work.

All of our LGV training vehicles have automatic gearboxes. From April 2014, any candidates who pass their LGV/HGV driving test will receive a full manual licence even if you take the test in and automatic vehicle, as long as you passed your car driving test in a manual vehicle.

Duration:

Candidates should expect for the whole process to take between 2-3 months, but this can depend how efficient the DVSA are at sending your provisional licence back.

You will also need to allow time to study for your theory tests, and a day off work to go to a DVSA theory test centre to take your theory tests.

Every candidate will receive a minimum of 20 hours practical training with our instructor.

You’ll take the Module 3a (off-road), Module 3b (on-road) and CPC Module 4 Practical Demonstration tests at the DVSA Test Centre.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be 18 or over
• Have a UK car driving licence (in date photo card licence)

How to Book:

A £250.00 deposit is due upon booking the course. This is a non-refundable deposit.

The remaining balance of £1,150.00 is due 21 days prior to the first day of practical training. If the training and test times are moved back due to a delay in licence processing at the DVSA, candidate not being ready or any other reason, the balance will still be due 21 days prior to the original ‘start date’ of practical training.

If the training and test times are moved forward as the candidate is ready early, then the balance due date will be discussed on a case-by-case basis and a new payment date agreed.

What happens next?

Upon receiving a booking, a member of our team will be in touch with you within 24 hours to arrange for provisional licence forms (DVSA D2 & D4) to be sent out and to arrange a suitable time, date and location for the drivers medical.

What happens if you do not pass your test?

Whilst some providers will charge a retest at a set rate, we deal with them on a case-by-case basis. Upon an unsuccessful test attempt, our instructor will put forward their recommendations for the number of extra hours training required ahead of a retest. Even the best candidates can make mistakes due to nerves on the day so we will do our best to fit any additional training and testing around you.

Our cost’s for additional training/ testing are as follows;

– £78.00 (inclusive of VAT) per hour of training

– £115.00 for a practical retest
